M-1 carbine help

So I have a 1960's commercial m1 bought new by my dad. Shot maybe 100 rounds in it's life. Now its mine and it will fire, eject the round 6-8 feet, chamber another round but will not reset the firing pin to fire the next round. What gives?? I have taken every part out and cleaned and lubed. Tried several types of mags and ammo. Any suggestions?
